Healthy Central Florida awarded $27,500 to 12 outstanding projects in its fourth annual round of Health Innovation grants. To date, more than $100,000 has been distributed to help make our communities the healthiest in the nation. From a community workshop in May with two national thought leaders and nearly 160 attendees, 38 grant applications were submitted. This year the grants focused on two of Healthy Central Florida’s four focus areas:
(1) Get Active – physical activity promotion (primarily walking and walkability); and
(2) Eat Healthy – healthy food access and consumption.
