One way Healthy Central Florida (HCF) creates lasting change is through funding other organizations to join the work of building healthy communities. Each HCF grantee must use evidence-based strategies learned in our workshops taught by national experts. They must then implement those strategies in grant projects.
To date, grants have focused on helping people get active, eat healthy, be happy and breathe free. A large focus is on creating walk-able/bike-able communities, increasing healthy food access and decreasing exposure to second-hand smoke.
Healthy Central Florida has given out more than $125,000 in grants to date. The next workshop and grant cycle is this fall – stay tuned. More details will be announced soon.
