It’s Back –Announcing the 2nd Annual Mayors’ Sole Challenge on Nov. 16th

121006_188This free, fun, family event will be held on Saturday, November 16th starting at the stage in Central Park on Park Avenue in Winter Park.   We are turning up the pure joy-factor and adding “dance-walking” to this year’s challenge (really, you haven’t heard of dance-walking?)  Click here to check out the world-wide craze!

As you’ll see, dance-walking is way more enjoyable with friends – so grab a bunch and join us.   We’ll have the best DJ in all of Orlando, prizes, surprises and loads of healthy fun.  It’s totally free – so invite your entire Zumba class, cheerleading squad, dance studio team, faith group, friends, and neighbors for this unique, family-friendly event.   (Regular walking is welcome too – but we’re warning you, the dance-walkers may have the most fun!)

The Mayors’ Sole Challenge is also a friendly community competition with $2,500 at stake.  The Challenge was started last year to see which community could bring out the most walkers and last year Eatonville won with 169 walkers.  Who will take the title this year?  Invite your block and represent your community while participating in an event that’s guaranteed to make you smile and move those soles!

All ages and fitness levels are welcome.  The festivities, including warm ups, dancing and a healthy breakfast start at 7:30 a.m.  The walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. and last for about 30 minutes.  Like our Facebook page, follow us on Twitter @HealthyCentralF and check back with HealthyCentralFlorida.org for updates and more details on this year’s Mayors’ Sole Challenge dance walk.

Which community will win?  Stay tuned for more details coming soon.
